Our story is proof that one person truly can make a difference for children.
In our case, that person was Dr. J. Calvitt Clarke, who was inspired to action by the plight of war orphans in China in 1938. Since then, caring donors around the world have helped millions of children to achieve their dreams and have a better life.

We were one of the world's first charities to offer monthly child sponsorship.
Dr. J Calvitt Clarke, our founder, pioneered the concept of child sponsorship back in 1947. Child sponsorship continues to this day and is still considered one of the best ways to help a child, and their community, to thrive.
Narrowing our Focus
We aim to create lasting change for communities.
To achieve this, we have narrowed our focus into a few dedicated areas, partnering with local organisations to create Road Map plans that help communities reach self-reliance.
