Since the February 24 Russian invasion of Ukraine, over 4,380,000 million people have fled the country, including more than 1.8 million children. Over 80% of people fleeing are traveling with children and 39% are women traveling alone. With thanks to New Zealand supporters and though the ChildFund Alliance and our on-ground partners, we are helping children and families in Ukraine right now.
A war zone is no place for a child to grow up.
Seeing your family and friends torn apart by violence is hard to understand for anyone, let alone a vulnerable child. There are millions of people who have crossed the border into neighbouring countries, and millions more who are desperate for refuge.
ChildFund is responding to this emergency by launching an integrated emergency programme in Ukraine and Moldova.
