We believe in creating sustainable change through long-term community programmes focused on achieving self-reliance.
We currently have programmes in six priority areas. As part of our Theory of Change, we work with local partners to develop Road Maps - plans that help each community reach self-reliance. Our commitment to these communities helps us achieve real, lasting changes that help children and youth to thrive.
Emali, Kenya
Since 2006, we have been helping children in the region of Emali, Kenya.
ChildFund New Zealand works in the rural setting of Emali, home to two tribes - the Maasai and the Kamba. There are roughly 3,500 New Zealanders who support our work in Kenya each month.
Pacific Islands
We have been supporting programmes in our own backyard for 26 years.
ChildFund has been supporting programmes in Papua New Guinea since 1994 and, In the last four years, we have expanded our work to include communities in Kiribati and the Solomon Islands.
Batticaloa, Sri Lanka
We've worked in Batticaloa for nearly 10 years.

Timor-Leste
Our work in Timor-Leste began in 1990. Recently, we updated our approach.

In the next few years, our work in Cao Bang will reach completion.
By 2023, families in Cao Bang will reach a state of self-reliance, and support from ChildFund New Zealand will no longer be needed.
